Despite embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Moment

This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
